Description
A little more "realistic" than some of the other Concept Art and Illustration I post here, this is another painting for the book project. For this one, instead of having a million things going on in the scene I wanted it to appear peaceful and atmospheric. I hope you like..and Oh please look at the LARGE VERSION

Really Good on the realism,
I think it coulda done without the swan though IMO, its beautifully painted and drawn, but It sticks out too much.. But thats just me.

I also wondered if it's a part photo-composite or 100% painted? It's very effective regardless...

It's a matte painting right? Photo's used for trees and mountains?

On the question of how the image was created and the use of photography..It's really a combination of 3D and 2D, much of the textures originate from the 3D portion of the images creation.. Additional textures were added using a few texture libraries I have lying around as well as some custom brushes. The trees were mostly Painter Nozzles as well as some photo reference and painting.
