Thanks Guys! Neverman: the background painterly looking stuff is Painter as well as some of the foliage...which is done with nozzles. The base structure (the cliff annd forground elements are done with simple geometry that I throw a base texture on and then I light the sceneand render using Mental ray. Then the photoshop part whioch is an array of custom brushes and photo references with a quite a few post layer effects used to get the misty atmospheric look. Make sense?
